Durga Puja ends with idol immersion in Chaibasa

Chaibasa, October 12: Residents bid a tearful adieu to the Goddess as a number of Durga idols were immersed in Roro river in Chaibasa on Tuesday.

People in large numbers participated in the immersion procession with traditional drums. The Durga idols were transported by vehicles to the river and the devotees danced throughout procession till river banks.

The devotees thronged the pandal and the procession to bid adieu to goddess Durga. Earlier, women of Bengali community played the traditional ‘sindoor khela’ before Maa Durga.

The administration made elaborate security arrangements for the peaceful immersion of goddess.
