Jamshedpur, Feb 19: Former Jharkhand Minister and JMM leader Dulal Bhuinya taking up the cause of vegetable vendors evicted forcibly by goons and other antisocial elements from the Sakchi Junglee Bazaar behind the Shitla Mandir, led a procession up to the SDO’s office where it was converted into a meeting.
“The affected vegetable vendors sell their own farm produces at the Junglee bazaar and they have been doing so since 50 years. Gradually, fruit sellers and hoteliers usurped their places and today they have no place to sell their farm produce. They have been terrorized by goons and other antisocial elements who also take money or vegetables forcibly from them. There is a limit to oppression and Jharkhand Mazdoor Union stands by them,” said the JMM leader.
Dulal Bhuinya demanded the Tata Steel, JNAC and administrative authorities to reinstate these vegetable vendors at the Junglee Bazaar and take steps accordingly within 15 days failing which violent agitations would be launched until justice for these vendors was achieved. The vegetable sellers-cum-farmers are mostly from Patamda.
