Dulal Bhuiyan jailed in disproportionate assets case

Ranchi, Oct 26: Former Jharkhand Land and Revenue minister Dulal Bhuiyan on Monday surrendered before a CBI court in Disproportionate assets case to the tune of Rs 1.3 crore and was taken on judicial custody till November 7 and was sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail.

The court of Akhil Kumar sent Bhuiyan to 14 days’ judicial custody. Acting on the orders of Supreme Court, Bhuiyan surrendered before the CBI court on Monday.

He was land and revenue Minister when Madhu Koda and Shibu Soren was the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. CBI accused Dulal Bhuiyan of acquiring movable and immovable property worth Rs 1.3 crore.

CBI also found three bunglows, six farm houses, 5 four-wheelers, three weapons and Rs 40 lakh bank deposit during investigation.

CBI court released arrest warrant against Congress leader in April 2015 and it was pending since then. After which Bhuiyan appealed in High Court and Supreme Court.

Bhuiyan, faced a non-bailable arrest warrant in the case lodged by CBI in 2013.
