Liquor shops to remain shut in Jamshedpur on June 4 for Vote Counting exercise

 

Jamshedpur, June 3: In a significant announcement, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal has declared June 4, the day of vote counting, as a dry day across the East Singhbhum district. This decision aims to ensure a peaceful and orderly environment during the counting process.

 

According to the order issued by Mittal, all retail product shops, hotels, restaurants, and bars, along with any other licensed premises, will remain completely closed on this day. The sale, serving, or distribution of any spirituous or intoxicating liquor or similar substances will be strictly prohibited in all establishments, including hotels, restaurants, clubs, eateries, kitchens, and shops.

 

The directive mandates that no intoxicating substances can be sold, served, or distributed in any private or public place within the district. This measure is expected to curb any potential disturbances and maintain public order during the crucial vote-counting period.

 

Authorities have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with this order, and any violation will be dealt with according to the law. The district administration has urged all citizens and business owners to cooperate fully to facilitate a smooth and peaceful electoral process.

 

The decision underscores the importance of maintaining a conducive environment for the democratic process, highlighting the district administration’s commitment to ensuring free and fair elections.
