Jamshedpur, July 21: President Droupadi Murmu will prove to be the voice of the Adivasi community and an ambassador of Jharkhand’s Santhali culture. This was observed on Thursday by former CM and BJP national vice president Raghubar Das during a celebration of Murmu’s historic election as the 15th President of India by members of Sampoorna Adivasi Samaj at Jehra Tola Basti, Baridih.
Das was welcomed by the tribal community members in traditional manner. The organizers thanked PM Narendra Modi and the BJP for nominating Droupadi Murmu as the President candidate and ensuring her victory. They said the NDA government had created history by supporting an Adivasi woman and contributing to her success in her presidential campaign.

Addressing the gathering, Das said, “In the 75 years of independence, no member of tribal community could reach the top Constitutional post of the country. Political parties that ruled the country for decades never bothered about this. PM Modi took the initiative to make it possible. Today is a historic day for the Indian Republic as Droupadi Murmu has become the first Adivasi woman of India to have been elected as the President. She would lead the underprivileged and the marginalized sections of the society.”
Das said he had got the opportunity to work with Murmu when she was the Governor of Jharkhand. He said she had impressed one and all with her simplicity and hard work. “Droupadi Murmu jee is a symbol of Antyodaya and she leads a simple life like the common people. Adivasi girls would get inspiration from her to fight for their rights,” said Das.
