Drinking water facility benefits 150 Dhirol villagers

Jamshedpur, Jan. 30: Access to potable water is a perennial problem for scores of village communities.

To fetch water villagers, particularly women, have to walk a long distance every day just to reach a water-source like hand pump. With no solution in sight and no other source of water around, the villagers are constrained to live in water scarcity which worsens during summer season.

To address the water crisis in rural areas facing acute water shortage during summer, Tata Steel has installed a drinking water supply system that comprises a deep bore well, an overhead tank and eleven stand posts in Dhirol village of Potka block. More than 150 households in Dhirol village will benefit from installation of the drinking water supply system.

Menaka Sardar, MLA, Potka, dedicated the facility to the residents of Dhirol village at the inauguration ceremony held today. Biren Bhuta, Chief – CSR, Tata Steel, S. N. Nandi, Head – Water and Civil Infrastructure along with the team were present at the function.

Ward Members, Panchayat Samiti members, community leaders and villagers attended the program.
