Jamshedpur, June 24: Dr. Nagendra Singh of Ganga Memorial Hospital performed a life-saving surgery to remove a 32 kg tumor from Nandini Soren’s stomach while covering all related expenses. Known for his dedication to helping the poor, Dr. Singh once again proved himself a messiah for the underprivileged.
Nandini Soren, a resident of Edal Beda village in the Ghatsila subdivision, attended a free medical check-up camp organized by Dr. Singh on June 16, 2024. She reported experiencing stomach pain, bleeding, and fever over the past two years. Suspecting a tumor, Dr. Singh conducted an examination, confirming the presence of a massive tumor.
Given her financial situation, Nandini’s husband, Karu Soren, a farmer, could not afford the operation cost of Rs lakh that was quoted elsewhere. Understanding their plight, Dr. Singh agreed to perform the surgery free of charge. Despite the complexity of the procedure, Dr. Singh, along with Dr. Rudra Pratap and their team, successfully removed the tumor weighing 32 kilograms.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Karu Soren expressed his gratitude, calling Dr. Singh a godsend. “I couldn’t afford my wife’s treatment, but Dr. Sahab’s camp gave us hope, and he saved her life,” he said, tears in his eyes.
Dr. Singh not only performed the surgery but also covered all expenses from the medical camp to the operation, including medicines, food, and travel. Now, Nandini Soren is fully recovered, bringing immense joy to her family.
