Jamshedpur, Nov 8: Dr Arunima Verma, head department of Surgery, Tata Motors Hospital, Jamshedpur has been appointed as the President of Jharkhand Surgical Society (ASI).
Dr Arunima is the 1st lady surgeon to hold this prestigious post. Dr Arunima who is presently the head of Department of Surgery, Tata Motors Hospital, Jamshedpur, was made the President of Jharkhand State Chapter of Association of Surgeon’s of India for the year 2020 – 21, in the recently held state conference of society.
She is 1st lady surgeon from Jharkhand to became Chairperson of this prestigious society which is a part of ASI, India.
Wife of Dr. Sharad Kumar, Anesthesiologists in Tata Main Hospital, Dr Arunima Verma completed her MBBS from Ranchi and MS from Darbhanga. She has worked in England also. Dr Arunima has also done her MRCS from UK and is a fellow of American Surgeon Society (AFSI).
She has vast experience in minimal invasive laproscopic surgery and is a renowned teacher of national repute with more than 20 scientific publications in various national and international Journals.
