Jamshedpur, May 3: The innovative agricultural startup led by Dr. Amresh Mahato, MD of Aati Pual Mushroom Private Limited, is delivering promising results. Dr. Mahato has successfully demonstrated that straw mushrooms can now be grown from paddy straw within just 13 days—revolutionizing a crop that was traditionally limited to the monsoon season. With this breakthrough, farmers can cultivate straw mushrooms twice a month, all year round, and on any type of land.

Dr. Mahato emphasized that this new method required minimal capital, labor, and time, while offering high returns. His technique has already been adopted by hundreds of farmers, who are now achieving better yields compared to conventional methods.

One such progressive farmer, Shakti Nath Mahato of Luabasa village near NH-33, has embraced this method on his two-bigha land. He reported harvesting mushrooms in just 12–13 days and expressed optimism about the profitability and future potential of this farming innovation. The mushrooms, selling at ₹300–₹400 per kg, are in high demand due to their quality.

Shakti Nath is also cultivating sweet potatoes and cassava using new techniques. During a recent visit to his farm, Dr. Mahato was accompanied by Nagendra Kumar, General Secretary of Deen Bandhu Trust.
