DPS Bokaro wins NML�s P R Rao State Science Quiz

Jamshedpur : Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro won the 4th PR Rao State Science Quiz, which was organised by National Metallurgical Laboratory; Jamshedpur in the fond memory of its former director Prof. P. Ramachandra Rao.
Quiz master, V V. Ramanan from Chennai, conducted the Science Quiz.

A total of 64 schools comprising 192 students accompanied by their respective teachers from different parts of state, namely, Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Chaibasa, Chandil, Jadugoda, Chakradharpur, Ghatshila, Mosabani and local schools of Jamshedpur participated in the quiz.

S. Srikanth, director, NML welcomed the gathering and motivated the students for a scientific career. Dr. Arvind Sinha, senior principal scientist, NML briefed on the works and life of Prof. P. Ramachandra Rao to the august gathering.

Delhi Public School, Bokaro represented by Pitamber Kaushik, Antariksh and Aditya Pandey was the winner scoring 202 points whereas DBMS English School, Kadma, Jamshedpur represented by Anmol Agrawal, Shasank Mittal and Ved Vineet became the runner-uP scoring 181 points.

The Chief Guest T. Mukherjee, former deputy director of Tata Steel gave away the prizes. Earlier Mukherjee addressed the gathering and elaborated on the role of enhancing knowledge in solving the cost control issues with reference to utilization of natural resources.

He also stressed on the need and importance of ingenuity as many developed countries are progressing ahead with their human resources.
