Jamshedpur, Jan 17: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bhilai consisting of C Venkatesh and Simi Kiran won the Tata Steel Inter State School Quiz held at Raipur while Gyan Ganga Education Academy consisting of Sankalp Tripathi and Diwaker Chandraker were crowned the runners up of the event.
BSP, Senior Secondary School, Bhilai consisting of Akash Tahenguria and Animesh Narayan bagged the third position. The winners was awarded cash prize of Rs 20,000, followed by Rs 15000 for the runners-up while the third place team took home Rs 10,000.
Besides cash prizes to the winners all six finalists received branded goody bags which included Tata Steel branded school bag, wrist watch, ball pen, T-shirt & cap.
The tournament witnessed participation of approximately 250 teams (500 students) from more than 30 schools of the region. 6 teams qualified in the final round after the preliminary elimination round.
Chief Guest for final round of the quiz was Subrat Sahoo, IAS, Secretary, Department of School Education, Government of Chhattisgarh and was welcomed by Anand Sinha, Chief Chhattisgarh Project, Tata Steel.
The Raipur round of the Tata Steel Inter-State School Quiz witnessed a huge turnout of students hailing from schools not only from Raipur but also from Durg, Bhilai, Rajnandgaon and Bilaspur.
Quizmaster, �Pickbrain� Giri Balasubramaniam and his team from GreyCaps conducted the quiz.
