Jamshedpur: A legal awareness cum mental health camp was organized in Bangurda panchayat of Patamada on Tuesday under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur.
Addressing the villagers, the secretary of DLSA, SN Sikdar said the villagers should know their legal rights and duties in order to avoid many hassles.
Sikdar informed the villagers about various legal provisions regarding mental patients. He spoke on various legal provisions related to atrocities against women and children, labour laws, child marriage, witch hunt and maintenance of aged and infirm people, women and children.
Dr Deepak Giri and Dr Jaya Moitra also addressed the villagers and spoke on various aspects of mental health. They stressed on providing healthcare facilities to mental patients so that they may lead a better life.
Among others present on the occasion included Nanda Rajak, Shiv Shankar Mahato and Nitai Chandra Gorai.
