DLSA educates citizens about acid attack-related laws

Jamshedpur, June 30: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur Civil Court, organized a legal awareness camp on acid attack victims under NALSA Scheme 10 on Sunday. The camp was held in collaboration with Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangharsh Samiti, Mango. The chief guest of the occasion was Kalyani Sharan, chairperson of Jharkhand State Women�s Commission while the special guest was First Class Judicial Magistrate Darshana.

In her address, the chief guest said there is an urgent need to make people aware about atrocities on women including domestic violence and other crimes and empower all women to become bold and independent. She said women should be supported in their fight against atrocities. She assured to help all women, especially victims of atrocities, and appealed them to share their plight with the Women�s Commission, DLSA and other forums.

The special guest informed people about acid attack incidents and related laws. She said there are stringent laws to deal with acid attack cases. She informed women about the rehabilitation and compensation scheme provisions pertaining to acid attack cases.
