Seraikela, Sep 1: District Mining Officer Sunny Kumar with aim to control the illegal mining of sand in Seraikela district raided Jhimri sand ghat in Nimdih block on Tuesday. During the road over a dozen tractors were present at the ghat and were indulged in illegal sand mining. As the Mining officer reached the spot they started running away with the tractor but one of them was caught. The tractor was seized by the Nimdih police. He informed that strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal mining of sand.
District Mining Officer said, “We had been getting complains about illegal mining and transportation of sand despite the restrictions imposed till October 15. On Tuesday morning we were informed about the illegal sand mining in Jhimri sand ghat and we raided the spot along with Nimdih police team at 9 am. As soon as the workers indulged in practice got the news about raid they fled the scene.”
Sunny Kumar further said that soon the news about the raid spread like wild fire all over the region. The raid will continue in near future and those involved will be strictly dealt with.
