Jamshedpur: The two-day District Level Talent Selection Competition 2025 began at the Tinplate Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on September 18, 2025. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Ranchi, Jharkhand, and the sports department of the East Singhbhum District Administration. The competition featured skill tests and battery tests for young athletes.
On the first day, 270 boys and girls participated across two age groups, competing in football and archery events. The participants underwent a series of physical and skill-based assessments to identify talent for district-level representation. A team of 20 technical officers managed and supervised the battery and skill tests, ensuring the smooth conduct of the competition.
The newly appointed District Sports Officer of East Singhbhum, Rupa Rani Tirkey, personally inspected the venue throughout the day, monitoring the proceedings and encouraging participants. She was supported by District Sports Coordinator Mahesh Tirkey, Day Boarding Instructor Suprabha Panda, and several other officials. Key contributors to the successful organization of the event included Brajkishore Rajak, Ratnesh Kumar Srivastava, Rishikesh Barik, Ajay Kumar, Manish Jonko, Shyam Kumar Sharma as announcer, W. Rahman as technical officer, and others including M. Arshad, Nitin Kumar Krishna Mishra, Ranjit Kumar, Anupam Kumar Singh, Gopal, Bhaskar, Ranjit Murmu, Simal Soren, and Rajni Kerai.
The competition aims to identify and nurture promising talent in football and archery, offering young athletes an opportunity to advance in district, state, and national-level sports events.
