District Congress stages protest against demolition drive

Jamshedpur, March 28: East Singhbhum district Congress Committee headed by party’s national spokesperson Dr. Ajoy Kumar took out a rally and held a massive protest against Chief Minister for re-launching the anti-encroachment drive all over Jamshedpur.

The rally started from Sakchi Aambagan and terminated at the DC office, where hundreds of Congress workers and senior leaders protested against the demolition of shops in several areas of the city.

Later, a delegation of the party submitted a five-point memorandum to DC demanding ownership rights to 86 bustis, announcement local policy, ration to every poor in the state, setting up of Manipal Medical College and providing old age, widow and disabled pension to all concerned.

On the occasion, Dr. Ajoy Kumar said this rhetoric government would not continue for long. “People have elected the Chief Minister and now the CM is playing with their sentiments.

This is the reason why Congress has to take to streets for the rights of the people. Congress will always stand with the rights of every poor and deprived people of the society, Dr. Kumar said.

Also present at the event were Anand Bihari Dubey, district president Vijay Khan, Ashok Choudhary, Dulal Bhuiyan, Ajay Singh, Debu Chatterjee, Anandmay Patra, LB Singh, Manjeet Anand, Debu Sahis, Sanjay Singh Azad, Brijendra Tiwary, Surya Rao, PN Jha and several others.
