Jamshedpur: A crucial meeting of the District Approval Committee, chaired by District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, was convened at the Collectorate Auditorium in Jamshedpur. The committee deliberated on various welfare department schemes, making significant decisions to benefit the district’s populace.
Key decisions included the approval of Rs 6 crore 11 lakh for post matric scholarships, which will benefit 5870 students across the district. The meeting was attended by esteemed representatives including MPs, MLAs, District Council members, and senior officials such as DFO Saba Alam Ansari, Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, PD ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, District Welfare Officer Rajendra Gupta, and District Education Superintendent, among others.
During the session, the committee approved schemes under the Chief Minister Employment Creation Scheme, benefiting 285 beneficiaries from various social categories, including 150 primitive tribes, 27 primitive castes, 102 OBCs, 3 Divyang, and 3 minority beneficiaries. Additionally, 463 applications under the Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Vikas Yojana were approved, covering sectors such as goat rearing, pig rearing, broiler poultry farming, layer poultry farming, and duck farming.
The committee also addressed applications under the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Sahayata Yojana and the Forest Rights Act (FRA) 2006, ensuring comprehensive review and necessary amendments for future considerations. The meeting concluded with directives to the District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner to oversee the effective implementation of approved schemes across all blocks of the district.
Regarding post matric scholarships, it was reported that out of 22425 applications received, 8226 applications have been approved by educational institutions, with 5870 students cleared for disbursement of the scholarship amount after due diligence and deductions.
The District Approval Committee’s decisions underscore its commitment to enhancing socio-economic development and welfare initiatives in Jamshedpur district.
