District administration to keep watch on bikers� gangs: Amit Kumar

DC meets Pesh-e-Imams, addresses their concerns on law and order

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Saturday said a core committee had been set up to ensure a hassle-free traffic in the city during Durga Puja celebrations. He said the committee, set up on 12th October last, is taking care of traffic flow in the city, especially around puja pandals.

The DC said the district administration will keep an eye on bikers� gang and DJs playing objectionable music during puja and immersion procession. He said all communities should cooperate with the district administration in ensuring peace during the festival.

The DC convened a meeting with the Pesh-e-Imams of different areas from the district to discuss law and order and traffic issues. He sought their suggestions to improve policing during puja and also assured to address their concerns.

Also present on the occasion, SSP Anoop Birtharay said the puja organizers and visitors should exercise precaution as well as patience during the festival. He said the district administration should be immediately informed about any untoward incident or emergency situation.

The SP appealed to people to abstain from forwarding rumour-based and hate messages on social media. He said such messages should be reported to police for action against the group admin and other culprits.
