Jamshedpur: District administration of East Singhbhum today sent polling duty staff to their destinations with huge deployment of forces in sensitive areas.
The deputy commissioner-cum-district returning officer Dr Amitabh Kaushal said a total of 37 cases of Model Code of Conduct violation had been reported so far. Seven of the cases are in the investigation stage, he said.
The senior superintendent of police Amol Venukant Homkar said FIR had been lodged in two cases. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Vidyut Varan Mahato is accused of using vehicles exceeding the limit set by the administration. Another case was related to hoardings by a marketing company. The name of the company and number of copies of the advertisement published by it were not mentioned in the banner.
The DC said two helicopters will be kept in ready position at the Sonari Airport tomorrow. Preparations have been made for safely transporting poll duty staff. He said the political election workers have been asked to remain beyond 200 metre radius of the election booth.
The SSP said police were running special drives to arrest warrantees.
There are a total of 1628 election booths in the district. They are situated in 1087 buildings. There will be a total of 15 candidates in fray whose fate in this Lok Sabha election will be decided by 15,81,665 voters.
