Jamshedpur, April 25: Acting on the recommendation of the SSP to declare the dam area on Kharkai River between Baroda Ghat and Kuluptanga as danger zone, the Deputy Commissioner while providing his assent has directed the Special Officers of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and Jugsalai Municipality to take necessary steps.
It may be mentioned here that sometime earlier seven persons had drowned on the same day at Baroda Ghat. Such incidents had happened on earlier occasions too at Baroda and Kuluptanga Ghats. These Ghats have remained a matter of concern for the district administration.
The district administration will barricade the area and mark danger zone to alert people about the hazards of using these two Ghats of the Kharkai River dam.
