Jamshedpur: The dispute between the newly elected Vishwakarma Samaj executives and its predecessor is widening. It may be noted that the Samaj organized a general body meeting on October 21. To ensure peace during the meeting which took place between 1 pm and 7 pm, the SDO had deputed magistrate Krishna Nandan Prasad. During the meeting, elections were held for the executive committee. The meeting and elections were conducted in keeping with the Samajs constitution.
President of the new committee, Arjun Sharma has alleged that his predecessor, Arun Kumar Thakur had unconstitutionally and illegally tried to cling on to the presidents chair dictatorially and had tried to drive a wedge between the Samajs carpenter and ironsmith communities.
Vishwakarma Samajs newly elected president Arjun Sharma informed that the old committee of executives had convened a general body meeting and tried to form a parallel committee which was an unconstitutional move. Sharma dubbed this move as illegal.
The Jamshedpur Vishwakarma Samaj protests the use of registered letter heads and calling of meetings by the earlier committee. The new committee will issue show cause notices to such persons and will initiate legal proceedings against them for using the Samajs registered stationary, said Arjun Sharma.
