Ranchi: Axe of disciplinary action is likely to fall on senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and state minister Simon Marandi post Lok Sabha elections in the state.
The continuing anti-party gesture being shown by the senior JMM leader seems to be the reason behind the unfavourable build-up in the party against him.
Recently, the JMM leader had appealed to his supporters to work against JMM supremo Sibu Soren in Dumka and JMM candidate from Rajmahal Vijay Hansda during the last leg of Lok Sabha elections in the state. Jharkhand Vikas Morcha president Babulal Marandi had also recently met Simon at the latter�s residence. The central general secretary of JMM Supriyo Bhattacharya said the time was ripe for the party leaders to take action against the dissident JMM leader.
Sources said Chief Minister Hemant Soren is also unhappy over the statement given by Simon against his father Sibu Soren. A show cause notice may be sent to Simon anytime, sources in the party said. However, the situation may turn even trickier for the JMM if action is taken against Simon due to declining strength of the party in Jharkhand Assembly.
Two former party MLAs Hemlal Murmu and Vidyut Varan Mahato have already resigned from the party. Former minister-cum-MLA Chandrashekhar Dubey alias Dadai Dubey has also joined Trinamool Congress before Lok Sabha elections in the state. But if action is not taken against Simon, it would become difficult for the JMM leaders to control dissident leaders in the organization.
For the time being, both Sibu and Hemant are busy working out strategy to deal with the issues of indiscipline within JMM and threat looming on the state government.
