DIG Reviews Crime in Jamshedpur, Orders Crackdown

Jamshedpur: Kolhan Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Anuranjan Kispotta on Tuesday reviewed the crime situation in Jamshedpur and directed police officials to intensify action against criminals across the Kolhan region.

The DIG chaired a high-level crime review meeting attended by senior police officers from East Singhbhum district and other areas of the Kolhan division. Officers discussed the law and order situation and reviewed policing strategies during the meeting.

Focus on Speedy Investigation

Kispotta reviewed pending criminal cases and ongoing investigations at various police stations. He asked officers to speed up investigations and ensure that charge sheets are filed within the stipulated time.

The DIG said timely investigation would help ensure that criminals are brought to justice without delay.

Crackdown on Illegal Activities

He also directed police to keep strict surveillance on habitual offenders and maintain vigilance in sensitive areas. The DIG asked officials to launch special drives against illegal activities.

These drives will target the sale of narcotics, illegal arms and organised criminal networks operating in the region.

Stress on Community Policing

Kispotta stressed the need for stronger community policing and better coordination between police stations. He asked officers to increase patrolling in crime-prone areas and respond quickly to complaints from citizens.

Senior district police officials briefed the DIG about current crime trends, challenges faced by the police and steps taken to control criminal activities.

The DIG asked officers to work with renewed focus and professionalism to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of residents in the Kolhan region.

“We must ensure swift investigation, strict action against criminals and stronger policing to maintain public confidence,” Kispotta said during the review meeting.
