Jamshedpur: The villagers of Dhobni village under Bodam block met the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar on Monday to complain against the local Mukhiya and Jal Sahiya for allegedly bungling Rs 2 lakh.
They alleged that the accused persons had taken away Rs 2 lakh out of the total fund of Rs 6 lakh allotted by the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department for the construction of toilets in 50 households.
The accused persons reportedly remained absent during meetings called by the panchayat committee and ward members.
The villagers handed over a memorandum to the DC in this regard and demanded action against the accused duo.
They said the DC should ensure construction of the toilets as soon as possible through his intervention in the matter.
