Dhanbad Railway Division sets up Holding Area at 3 stations for passengers

Dhanbad, Oct  24:  In wake of heavy rush of Chhat festival travellers  Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway (ECR) zone has for the first time set up  Holding  Area at its  three stations Dhanbad, Gomoh and Koderma to provide safe place for  passengers from crowded platforms .

Manager of  Dhanbad Rail Division (DRM) Akhilesh Mishra  giving this information said that besides  Holding Area, additional  ticket counters have also opened at   busiest  stations of division so that  travellers of Chhath festival do not get any problem in getting ticket during rush hour.

 Dhanbad, Gomoh and Koderma stations of the division have been identified as busy stations of  travellers during Chhath festival. Keeping this in mind Division has set up Holding Area  to avoid any untoward incident on platform.

 “Total 30 pairs of  special trains are running  in  which  19 pairs of trains are cross through the division while 11 pair  of trains  are running from division. For safety of passengers, additional force of  RPF and GRP have been deployed at important  stations and onboard  escort duty  in crowded trains has been increased”, said  Akhilesh Mishra.

He said at important stations numbers of  staff have been increased to help passenger in on board  and  off board of   train.

The DRM said that help line number 139  has also been made available for the passengers to inform if any suspicious  activity  of any person is found.

 “In wake of festival providing security and special facility to passengers are  priority.  All stations have been directed to follow the instruction for facilties of passengers”, he said.
