Jamshedpur : A student of the Singhbhum Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital eloped with her lover last night following which the parents today crated ruckus at the campus and also attacked the principal of the college.
The campus witnessed unruly scenes when the news of missing student spread. The parents protested.
Officials of the college informed Jayshree Kumari a resident of Dhanbad was residing at the 48-bedded girl�s hostel at the campus. She went missing last night and when the parents came to know about their daughter�s disappearance they alleged the college administration of negligence and attacked the principal.
As the news spread a team from the Sakchi Police Station reached the spot. During the investigation the missing girl was traced and she accepted that she ran away with her lover. A case has been filed at the local police station in this regard.
It may be mentioned that the Singhbhum Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital was established in 1953 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.�
The college is managed by a governing body, constituted by the Dep. of Health Education, Govt. of Jharkhand to which the Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum is the Chairman.
The college is teaching B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery) course. It is a five and half year course with one year of internship training (inclusive).
The course is recognised by the Dept. of AYUSH, Ministry of Health, Govt. of India, Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi (Govt. of India) and the Dept. of Health Education, Govt. of Jharkhand. The college is permanently affiliated from Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh.
