Devotion to Krishna ensures eternal bliss: Himanshu Maharaj

Jamshedpur, August 21: “Devotion to Lord Shri Krishna ensures eternal bliss. This devotion is the sole basis in life and this devotion carries us across the ocean of the universe. Faith in God creates devotion in the form of eternal bliss. Human welfare can only be attained by taking refuge in God,” explained narrator Himanshu Maharaj while on the topic of Gopi Geet, Uddhav-Gopi dialogue, Kans Vadh and Krishna-Rukmani marriage. He was speaking on the sixth day of the week long Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagna being organized at the Satyanarayan Marwari Mandir in Bistupur on Sunday, August 21. Explaining  Kans Vadh, Maharaj said that one of the major reasons for Lord Shri Krishna’s manifestation in human form was the slaying of His maternal uncle, the cruel Kans and delivering safety and peace to the residents of Mathura. Shri Krishna, at the age of 11 years, killed Kans to end the atrocities of the cruel ruler. In thew same vein, Himanshu Maharaj observed, “We cannot be happy unless our ego is destroyed.”

The devotees turned sentimental as Himanshu Maharaj unfolded the Uddhav-Gopi episode. The tableau depicting Krishna-Rukmani marriage and Gopi Geet saw many devotees dance in religious elation.

Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy attended the sixth day’s session. They listened to Himanshu Maharaj’s narration during the Bhagwat Katha. Both, Banna Gupta and Saryu Roy while participating in the proceedings prayed for peace and happiness of the people.

On the sixth day on Sunday, Mahavir Nagelia, Ashok Sanghi, Arun Bankrewal, Hari Prasad Agiwal, Shiv Kumar, Ramesh Kumar Agiwal along with Prasad hosts, Chhitarmal Dhoot, Ajay, Vijay Bankrewal, Vishwanath Naredi, Ratan Lal Agiwal, Banwari Lal and Suresh Saraiwala along with a crowd of devotees were present on the occasion.
