Devotees sway to Bhajans at Shyam Mahotsav in Parsudih

Jamshedpur, Aug 11: Shri Shyam Bhakt Mandal of Parsudih, on the occasion of the holy month of Sawan, organized its 11^th Shyam Mahotsav at Parsudih Cooperative Society Colony on Church Road near the Haat Bazaar. Devotees swayed and danced to Bhajans sung in praise of Khatu Wale Baba Shyam till late night.

The invited singers included Manjit Singh from Gorakhpur along with local artistes Puja Jha, Manish and Harjit Singh Hira who spelt an aura of piety among the devotees who were immersed in devotional fervor. The organization�s singers also performed Bhajans on the occasion with women devotees dancing to the lyrics of the music.

The proceedings got underway at 7 pm with host Gita and Dayashankar Agrawal offering prayers under the supervision of priest Ramakant Pathak who letter tied the protective cord around the wrists of devotes present. The Bhajan proceedings began at 9 pm with Ganesh Vandana and continued till 2 am.

The highlights of the Mahotsav were the exquisitely decorated pedestal of Baba Shyam, 56 items of fruits and food for holy consecration, Akhand Jyot, Mahapujan, Mahaprasad and Sankirtan.

Among the guests present were Zila Parishad vice president Rajkumar Singh, Chief Minister�s legislative representative Pawan Agrawal, Parsudih PS OC Animesh Gupta and Zila Parishad member Sudipto Dey Rana. The organizing committee members included Ratan Agrawal, Vijay (BIJU) Agrawal, Manoj Agrawal, Akhilesh Agrawal, Rajesh (Raju) Agrawal, Sanjay Agrawal, Rohit Agrawal, Shiv Narayan Akash Agrawal, Agrawal, Anurag Agrawal, Navin Bunty Agrawal and Shankar Agrawal.
