Devotees celebrate three-day Shyam Janmotsav in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, November 13: The three-day 25th Shri Shyam Janmotsav organized by Shri Shyam Mitra Mandal Mango concluded on Wednesday at Shyam Bhawan on Mango New Purulia Road. Celebrated on the auspicious occasion of Devuthani Gyaras, the festival witnessed vibrant bhajans and rituals, with Baba Shyam’s chants resonating among devotees.

The festival’s final day began with a Barsa Puja at 12:15 pm, followed by the distribution of Mahaprasad starting at 7:15 pm, which continued late into the night, drawing about two thousand devotees. The evening prior saw Aarti and a traditional puja performed by Yajman Urmila-Shankar Lal Agarwal, Rajni-Tulsi Khemka, and Sudha-Banna Gupta, conducted by Pandit Nathu Lal Sharma, who also tied Raksha Sutras among all present.

At midnight, a cake-cutting ceremony was organized followed by Maha-Arati and the distribution of Chhappan Bhog Prasad. The main attractions included Baba Shyam’s beautifully adorned court, the Akhand Jyot, and elaborate decorations crafted by Kolkata artisans, illuminating Shyam Bhawan and its surroundings with flags and lights.

The devotional atmosphere was amplified by guest artistes Riya and Rishu K.C. Agarwal (Nepal), Rahul Soni (Bhagalpur), Jai Shri and Party (Kolkata), and Ganga Sharma (Darbhanga), who mesmerized devotees with their Bhajan renditions.

The event was supervised by the organization’s president Mahavir Prasad Agarwal, secretary Vijay Khemka, and program coordinator Ramesh Agarwal. With spirits high, devotees celebrated Shyam Baba’s presence, singing and dancing into the night.
