Large procession marks day one
Jamshedpur, Jan 11: The 31st Basant Mahotsava organized on 11th and 12th January at Shakti Dham, Sakchi,
near Agrasen Bhavan under the aegis of Sri Rani Sati Seva Sangh, Jamshedpur, a city-based cultural organization began with devotion.
On the day one procession was taken from Ram Mandir Bistupur.
Around 5000 devotees of Dadi Rani Sati attended the event. Around 2500 women participated in the procession.
�It is grand event for the people of the city, especially members of the Marwari community living in and around
Jamshedpur.
The response was overwhelming on the day one. Devotees worshiped Dadi Sati.,� said Chandulal Bhalotia, president of the organizing committee.
There was a separate groups of band parties during the Kalash procession. The procession included two elephants,
two horses and two camels.
A 21 member team of Chhau dancers from Purulia performed on the occasion. The organizers said Dadi Sati was worshipped with around 50 kilogram bhog (offering). They said the devotees attending the programme have been
accommodated for free in 14 dharmashalas of the city.
The devotees will not be charged for their stay in any way, organizers said.
Tableau centre of attraction at Kalash Yatra
On Saturday morning at around 9 am a Kalash Yatra was taken out from Ram Mandir in Bistupur which concluded at Agrasen Bhavan in Sakchi at 1 pm.
The 2 km long procession saw thousands of devotees take 4 hours to complete the journey. The journey from Ram
Mandir in Bistupur to Agrasen Bhavan in Sakchi was around 5 km where several thousand residents lined up at the side of the roads to witness the tableaux present in the procession.
Two band team of 21 members each also participated in the yatra along with Tasha team of 11 mem-bers. The front was captured by two horses were culture of Jharkhand was also show-cased.

City branch created aware-ness of female feticide during the rally.
Sevadar Samitis of Khatu Naresh also took out tableaux of Shyam baba. There was a special presence of Baba Basukinath tableaux by Tatanagar Basukinath Mandal.
During the yatra married women played vermilion along with the artists from outside Jamshedpur.
Tableau of 13 abode of Dadi was present
Kalash Yatra on Saturday saw participation of all 13 Shakti Dhaam of Shri Dadi situated at Rajasthan which included Rani Sati, Tili Sati, Gujri Sati, Piragi Sati, Bani Sati, Urmila Sati, Seeta Sati, Mahadai Sati, Jamna Sati, Jeevni Sati, Purna sati, Maina sati, and Manohar Sati.
Devotees, who couldn�t visit 13 abode of Dadi Ji, were presentat the 31 Basant Mahotsav in Steel city to witness the parade.
Silver Chariot and Palki of Shri dadi was brought to Jamshedpur from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan for the stprocession.
Flowers were also showered on the procession.
Mass Mangal Puja today
On Sunday January 12 Bhajans will be started from 5.30 in the morning and willcontinue till 8.30 am. Mass magal puja will be organized were Manju Sharma from Jaipur will head the team. At around 6.30 pm award ceremony will be organised and concluding program will start.
At 8 pm with Mahaarti the two day program will conclude. During the celebrations at the darbar of Shri Rani Sati the devotees imposed swamani indulgence.
In Rajasthan it is a prevailing belief that when some one�s wish is fulfilled the person imposes swamani (50kg)
indulgence on the god or goddess.
Outstation devotees staying in Dharamshalas
14 Dharmshalas have been reserved for devotees who are part of the celebrations and are from outside Jamshedpur.
Organsiers have arranged free of cost rooms for outstation devotees. Several devotees are also living in hotels around the city.
Around 5000 devotees have arrived in the city from outstations.
Organising committee working from last 3 months
To make this religious program successful the organising committee including the President Chandulal Bhalotia,
Govind Dodrajka, Ramkrishna Choudhary, Rajkumar Sanghi, Anand Agrawal, Balmukund Goyal, Devendra Jhunjhunwala,
along with devotees of Dadi are playing important role.
According to reports the organising committee is working hard from last three months to complete the work in
time.
Before this Dhanbad city has also hosted Basant Mahotsav which was organized successfully.
Performed duties of responsible citizen
During the procession on Saturday several devotees threw plastic water bottles and glasses on the roads but present
on the occasionShyam devotees playing the role of responsible citizens made the roads clean and free of any waste materials.
Members of Shri Shri Shyam Kendriya Samiti and Bhalubasa Shyam Bhakt Mandal were walking behind the procession and were picking up the plastic bottles and glasses that were in the way.
Daily commuters didn�t face problems
Roads were jammed during the procession taken out from Bistupur to Sakchi but the commuters� didn�t had any difficulty in crossing or going from the side of road thanks to the presence of police and the help of organizing
committee members.
At the event Trafic DSP Rakesh Mohan Sinha, CCR DSP and Bistupur Police Station incharge Awadh Yadav were present during the procession.
