Jamshedpur, Jan. 22: A man stabbed his father-in-law (Nurullah Sharif) to death and seriously injured his sister-in-law (Nadra Parween) and brother-in-law (Khurshid Alam alias Salman) when they refused him to meet his young son in Jawaharnagar, Road. No. 14, under the jurisdiction of Mango police station here on Friday at around 9 am.
The accused has been identified as Aftab Alam and is a resident of Old Purulia Road No. 1. He was arrested by the police today. The accused informed the police that he was married to Amreen in 2013, but was divorced in 2015. Since then, Aftab�s wife lived at her maternal home in Jawaharnagar. Aftab�s one-year-old son also lives with his mother.
According to DSP K N Mishra, Aftab Alam, used to come to his former in-laws’ place at Mango to meet his son, but was never allowed to meet the child. As a result, he was always very sad.
Alam again reached his in-laws place on Friday to meet his son, but his father-in-law Nurullah Sharif, brother-in law Khurshid Alam and sister-in-law Nadra Parween denied him permission, he said.
Hereafter, there was a serious quarrel and a furious Alam took out his knife and stabbed his in-laws. While his former father-in-law was seriously injured and was taken to MGM Hospital, where he died during treatment, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law has been admitted to the CCU of TMH.
The DSP said that the accused was carrying the knife with him probably to teach his in-laws a lesson if he was denied permission to meet his son this time too.
