Demonstration at JNAC office against extortion

Jamshedpur, Oct 4: The daily extortion in the name of parking is being done by the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee personnel from the roadside hawkers near the Sakchi bus stand. On an average Rs 100 per day is being extorted from the poor vendors who earn daily wages and in return they are given a receipt in which the parking charges for two wheelers and four wheelers are mentioned.
 BJM East assembly convener Ajay Sinha  protested the extortion. On Monday, in front of the JNAC office,  the workers led by BJM protested against the extortion being done in a fake manner. 
On the spot, the protesters including the BJM leader said that this process has been going on for about 6 months. Six months ago, clearly registering an objection to the special officer of JNAC, demanding an immediate stop on illegal recovery. 
On Monday, a delegation of BJM met JNAC special officer Krishna Kumar and demanded verification of parking receipt. Sinha said that it became clear from the attitude of the special officer that this business is flourishing only with the connivance of the top officials of JNAC.
