Demand for smart solutions to tackle traffic congestion in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: City residents, particularly the ones from Mango, are struggling with severe traffic congestion every day, and there seems to be no serious response from the district administration.

Social activist Manoj Mishra raised this concern during a meeting at Avinash Nagar in Mango focusing on the persistent traffic jams. He criticized the administration and traffic police for their lack of concrete solutions other than the construction of a flyover. Mishra emphasized that many metropolitan cities have successfully implemented Smart Traffic Management (STM) systems to tackle congestion despite dense populations.

“Even after the flyover is built, if the administration does not improve the traffic management and continues with the same careless attitude, the problem will remain,” said Mishra. He added, “Jamshedpur police seem only interested in helmet checks. They never verify the documents of auto-rickshaws and other commercial vehicles.”

He urged the district administration to introduce the STM system in Jamshedpur to ensure smooth traffic flow. A signature campaign will soon be launched among Mango residents to demand effective solutions for the traffic problem.

The meeting was attended by local residents, including Renu Singh, Subodh Kumar, Nibha Shukla, Shankar Dutta, Kishore Verma, Rishi Gupta, Subhashree Dutta, Rita Devi, Chun Chun Mishra, Ruby, Shashi Sharma and Kalpana Jha.
