Jamshedpur, Sept 10:  Dr Ajoy Kumar, a permanent invitee of Congress Working Committee and former MP of Jamshedpur, has written to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand urging him to direct Tata Steel Utilities Infrastructure Services Limited (formerly JUSCO) to reopen the Jubilee Park fully for the people of Jamshedpur and tourists from other places.

Dr Ajoy Kumar stated in the letter that the state government had allowed parks to reopen last month, easing the lockdown restrictions, but Tata Steel UISL did not respond to the directives.

The Congress leader expressed concern over the manner in which some management officials of Tata Steel UISL were behaving while mentioning, “it seems that they have made it an ego related issue.. The people of Jamshedpur are very emotionally attached to this park. When I was the Superintendent of Police in Jamshedpur, I used to go for my routine daily jogging and meet the local people as that helped me to stay connected. Even during festivals, people from different parts of Jharkhand and neighboring states like Bengal and Odisha visited the Jubilee Park, but with its lingering closure, tourism in this beautiful city has been affected.”

Dr Ajoy Kumar has requested the Chief Minister to discuss the matter with the Tata Steel UISL management and ensure that immediate measures are taken towards reopening the famous Jubilee Park to the people of Jamshedpur.
