Jamshedpur, Nov. 4: Buoyant Jamshedpur FC began the proceedings on a dominating note against Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.

Jamshedpur lad Gourav Mukhi was again up with his attack but failed to convert the chances. Jamshedpur FC was the better side in the first half and attacked more but lacked the finesse to convert moves into goals. JFC finally got the lead in the 39th minute when an excellent counter-attack saw Sergio Cidoncha score the first goal of the game. Though the match was played in the national capital, back home in Jamshedpur, fans in large numbers turned up at the JFC Fan Park near Dorabji Tata Park.

More than 2500 fans were present at the Fan Park to enjoy their team’s away game. Along with the players fans were also pumped up as the match got underway. Gourav Mukhi fans also gathered at the Fan Park hoping that he makes up for the missed chances against FC Goa. Gourav did start well but again failed to convert the opportunities in to goals.

When Sergio Cidoncha scored the opening goal of the match after a pass from Gourav Mukhi, Red Miners–official JFC Fan Club members went berserk beating drums and dancing with JFC flags in their hands.

The crowd started “Hulla Bolo Mukhi” when its idol clashed with Crespi.
In the second half Michael Soosairaj tried to go for glory in the 51st minute but was blocked.

Two back to back goals for Delhi took the hosts into the lead which made the supporters at JFC Fan Park go silent.

Eager for an equalizer, JFC fans started chanting ‘Jam Ke Khelo Jamshedpur’. This time it was captain Tiri who dived and headed it inside the goal in the 72nd minute. The supporters again joined the excitement and the JFC Fan Park erupted again. Both the teams tried to score in the dying moments but the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The organizers left no stone unturned to make the already electrifying atmosphere more interesting.

A merchandise stall had also been set up where JFC replica jerseys, key rings, personalized coffee mugs, water sippers, pens and the team’s pin badges were on sale.
