Delhi court issues summons to BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain in the rape case

Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain’s troubles seem to be increasing. A Delhi court has summoned a BJP leader involved in a rape case. The court has issued summons against Shahnawaz Hussain through the concerned SHO. The court has issued instructions to him to appear at the next hearing. The court took cognizance of the alleged crime and directed the former Union Minister to appear in the court on October 20. The court said that after considering the report of cancellation of FIR, the protest petition filed by the complainant, the reply filed by the investigating officer to the protest petition and other materials placed on record, it has found that the complainant has complained to the police, the court, and the magistrate. A similar statement has been given under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC).
Rejecting the Delhi Police report, the court said that these are matters on which a decision can be taken during the hearing. The court said that the court believes that the statement of the complainant and his credibility can be tested only during the trial when the accused is cross-examined. The woman had also made allegations of rape.
