Deepak Birua reviews preparations for World Tribal Festival

Ranchi, July 24: The Jharkhand government will organize a two-day tribal festival on World Tribal Day at Bhagwan Birsa Memorial Park in Ranchi on August 9 and 10. Welfare Minister Deepak Birua chaired a review meeting at Kalyan Complex to discuss the preparations for the event.

Minister Birua directed officials to invite tribal thinkers, experts, and respected individuals from across the country for the celebration. He emphasized the importance of ensuring flawless arrangements for visitor arrivals, accommodation, and showcasing tribal culture and traditions throughout the festival.

Welfare Commissioner Ajaynath Jha provided a detailed presentation on the preparations, highlighting that the festival would feature exhibitions on tribal history, culture, art, instruments, costumes, and jewelry. Additionally, displays of Dokra art, Kohbar, and Sohrai, along with various other tribal arts, would be organized. Stalls offering tribal cuisine would also be set up, and films on tribal cultures from other countries would be screened.

Jha mentioned that a seminar on forest rights lease and an exhibition of schemes related to the Scheduled Tribe community would be part of the festival. Films produced by TRI on tribal subjects would also be screened.

The festival would feature a grand welcome with 100 drums playing, a procession with dance groups from 32 tribal communities, presentations of renowned tribal music and dance arts, and book releases by TRI. Art groups from different states were also being invited to participate.
