Dead body of Jamshedpur boy found floating near Babudih Ghat, another victim still traceless

Jamshedpur, Sept. 10: After 24 hours of search, the body of one of the� teenaged boys who drowned in the Subernarekha river along Sakchi on Wednesday afternoon was found floating near Babudih Ghat of the river along Sidhogra police station area on Thursday afternoon.

The body was identified as that of Suman Kumar. He was recovered from the river by divers whereas the body of another victim, Aman Kumar, is still traceless. A resident of Kunjnagar in Sonari, Suman was the son of an employee in Tata Steel.

OC, Sidhgora police station Manoj Thakur informed that Badudih residents had seen a body and had subsequently informed the Sidhgora police this afternoon.

“We were informed that the body was floating and we immediately pressed divers to the point where the body was trapped in the rock in floating condition and got it recovered.  The victims’ families rushed to Babudih Ghat and identified one of the bodies to be that of Suman Kumar,” said Thakur.

The Sakchi police station OC, Kunal Kumar also confirmed that the body of one of the drowning victims has been recovered and the attempt for tracing another body is on.

According to family sources, five boys, namely Aman Kumar, Suman Kumar, Ayush, Ranjit and Sagar had gone on two bikes on Wednesday afternoon for a ride.  The boys who all were residents of various localities in Sonari wanted to take bath in the Subernarekha river and subsequently drowned.
