De-Phosphorisation plant inaugurated at Tata Pigments

Jamshedpur, Dec. 27: Tata Pigments has collaborated with Tata Steel for processing the industrial by-products into useful products.

Tata Pigments has set up a pilot plant for De-Phosphorisation of Steel making slag generated by Tata Steel. The plant was inaugurated by T V Narendran, managing director of Tata Steel, on December 27 at Tata Pigments premises.

Also present on the occasion were Sunil Bhaskaran, vice president, corporate services, Tata Steel and chairman Tata Pigments, Shubhajit Chaudhuri, managing director, Tata Pigments, B. K. Das, VP, Iron Making, Tata Steel, Sandeep Kumar, EIC-IBMD, Dr. Sanjay Chandra, Chief, R&D, Tata Steel, Sandeep Bhattacharya, Director, Tata Pigments and other senior officials.

Post successful trials, Tata Pigments will put up a commercial scale plant which will handle significant quantity of steel slag generated at Tata Steel. The company may start this plant in next 18 months.
