De Nobili School CMRI wins Frank Anthony Memorial Inter School Debate at NHES

Jamshedpur, July 15: Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) hosted the Frank Anthony Memorial Inter School Debate Competition 2024 (Category I, Stage I) in its school auditorium. Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury, opened the event by declaring the debate topic. Participating schools included ADLS Sunshine School, Carmel Junior College, Dayanand Public School, DBMS English School, De Nobili School (CMRI), Hill Top School, Kerala Public School (Kadma), Kerala Public School (Mango), Loyola School, Motilal Nehru Public School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Sacred Heart Convent School, and St. Xavier’s School.

The event was judged by  Jayanti Banerjee Das, who has 38 years of teaching experience across schools, colleges, and management institutes; Mitali Roy Choudhury, an educationist, academician, counsellor, and retired Principal of an esteemed school in Jamshedpur; and Dr Monika Uppal, Vice Principal of DBMS College of Education. The debate was moderated by Nalin Goel, an architect by profession and a laureate in elocution and debates, including the prestigious Frank Anthony Debate for ICSE schools.

Participants were given an hour to prepare their speeches, with each allowed four minutes for delivery and two minutes for rebuttal. The event gained momentum during the rebuttal session, showcasing the impressive argumentative skills of the participants. The debate concluded with the announcement of the results.

Best Speaker at the competition was Rachit Sharma (De Nobili School, CMRI), first runner-up speaker was Richa Ragini (De Nobili School, CMRI).

Rachit Sharma and Richa Ragini of De Nobili School, CMRI were declared the winners.

First runner-up award was bagged by Ankita Dey Laik and Lakshita Choudhury of Loyola School, Jamshedpur.
