DC views stakeholders � presentation for Chaibasa�s development

Chaibasa: The deputy commissioner of West Singhbhum Dr Shantanu Kumar Agrohari convened a meeting of the stakeholders of Municipal Council, Chaibasa, on Wednesday. He viewed a presentation on the development of Chaibasa made by the Urban Development Department.

The first part of the presentation showed the proposed Ring Road and how it would be linked to various parts of the town including Ghantaghar Chowk, Ratanlal Petrol Pump. The proposed Ring Road would encompass the entire township starting from Krishna Press and passing through JMP Chowk. Around Rs 160 crore would be spent on the construction of the said Ring Road. Land acquisition will cost another Rs 110 crore, sources said.

The second part of the presentation by JUDCO, showed how 1BHK houses will be provided to the people in the slum areas of Marytola, Gadi Khana and Chhota Nimdih. Around Rs 20 crore will be spent on the said project. In connection with this project, the DC asked the authorities concerned to strictly adhere to the Building Bylaws.

In the third presentation, the Chaibasa bus stand was shown. Under the proposal, a new bus stand would be constructed over 2.4 acres of land. The model of a G plus four complex was also shown. The proposed building would include parking and medical facility besides having banks, ATMs, toilets and dormitory.

The DC also directed the officials concerned to install CCTVs at various places and set up a control room and a police post. Suggestions were also made regarding rainwater harvesting and installation of solar panels. An expenditure of Rs 44 crore is expected in the construction work on the suggestions of the panel. The construction will take place under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

Among others present at the meeting included ADC Jai Kishore Prasad, Kumar Narendra Narayan and all ward councils.
