Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) is going to organize a four day �Kabar Mahotsava� (junk festival) in the city. East Singhbhum deputy commissioner (DC) Amit Kumar will be inaugurating this unique festival at Sidhgora Town Hall tomorrow.
The special officer of JNAC, Sanjay Kumar, convened a meeting regarding the festival on Sunday. He said recycling or reusing discarded household goods could help reduce the total garbage output of the city.
Kumar said the first day of the programme slated to be held at the Town Hall would see students, working women and cleaning staff attend an informative session. A slew of events would be held at different places on the second day, he said.
On the last day of the festival, an exhibition of various interesting items prepared with the help of discarded household goods would be held with the view to encourage citizens to make good use of garbage, said Kumar.
