Seraikela: The deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan Ramesh Gholap here on Saturday set up a probe committee to inquire into allegations of non-payment under the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana for the financial year 2016-17.
He said the committee would be submitting its probe report to him within a week so that those guilty of delaying payments under the said scheme are identified.
He said that strict action will be taken against the guilty.
The DC also set up a three member probe committee to enquire into violation of government orders by a government school of Ichagarh on the complaint of the local MLA Sadhu Charan Mahato.
As per the government order, all government schools are to purchase benches and desks from local furniture suppliers. But the officials of a local school reportedly purchased the furniture from a supplier outside the district. This led the local MLA to complain to the DC and seek a probe into the alleged violation of government order.
The DC also held a meeting to review the performance of various government departments and discussed development projects with the authorities concerned. He also distributed mobile phones in Seraikela.
