DC instructs Jamshedpur hospitals to increase COVID beds

Jamshedpur, Sept. 11: The district administration has asked the hospitals to further increase the number of COVID beds in the city as cases of coronavirus continue to rise. At the district collectorate auditorium, Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar reviewed the available beds at Covid Care Hospitals in the district.

In view of the increasing cases of corona, the Deputy Commissioner has instructed various COVID Hospital managers to increase the number of beds in their hospitals. They were asked to provide additional beds in the hospital so that the pandemic can be controlled.

Mango-based Brahmanand Hospital was given a target of 50 beds, out of which 20 beds are ready, 10 beds are expected within three days, while the remaining 20 beds were directed to be made available within 15 days. While 40 beds at Tata Motors Hospital will be ready in a day or two. At MGM Hospital 16 ventilators have been operationalised. NH 33 based Uma Super Specialty has been instructed to set up Isolation beds.

Baridih based Mercy Hospital is ready with 32 beds, the representative of the hospital management said that the remaining three beds will be available soon. Instructions were to Meditrina Hospital to ensure the availability of six dedicated Covid beds and 21 separate isolation beds.

The committee comprising Civil Surgeon, MGM Deputy Superintendent, GM TMH, were directed to ensure the availability of doctors by coordinating with each other to start the Medica Hospital smoothly.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the hospital managers to compulsorily keep the corona infected record along with their ID proof. Along with this, instructions were also given to inform Covid-19 infected people about the protocol. In the Corona period all hospitals were directed to take appropriate measures for the betterment of patients.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the doctors need to take care of their health and safety as well, the staff and doctors have to do duty amid the risk of infection. He said that doctors and medical personnel should discharge their responsibilities in full compliance of COVID-19 protocol. Medical personnel will perform duties by wearing masks, gloves, and PPE kits.

Apart from this, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the villagers that since coronavirus is a contagious disease, they need to wear masks, must clean hands frequently, and talk to people by keeping distance. Also follow social distance and ensure to follow the guidelines issued by the district administration in letter and spirit.
