Jamshedpur, April 14: Deputy Commissioner-cum- District magistrate of East Singhbhum, Suraj Kumar visited Medica Hospital to inspect feasibility of setting up COVID care centre there. he assessed the infrastructure available at the hospital and during briefings with the doctors and other members pof the medical staff he gave necessary directives. He directed the authorities to reserve 80 percent beds for COVID care.

It may be mentioned that such moves have been necessitated because of the alarming rise in coronavirus infections in the district in the wake of the second wave of COVID pandemic. DC Suraj Kumar during his talks with the hospital officials stated that apart from existing facilities, Medica Hospital should be adequately equipped to meet contingent conditions for treatment of COVID infected patients. He also gave necessary directives to the management officials of the hospital on other medical facilities and improvements required on certain areas. Others present during the inspection were SSP, doctors of TMH and MGMC Hospital.
