Seraikela: The deputy commissioner (DC) of Seraikela-Kharsawan Ramesh Gholap stopped a truck carrying sand mined illegally in Odisha, West Bengal and Ranchi to Jamshedpur on Wednesday.
He handed over the confiscated vehicle to the district transport officer (DTO) Vijay Kumar Ranjan.
He said the truck was carrying sand illegally to Seraikela-Kharsawan in connivance with the officials of mining and transport department.
He said the truck had no registration number plate when confiscated and that it was also overloaded.
