Jamshedpur, July 14: Sikshit Berojgaar Mangla haat Dukandaar Sangh delegation headed by its president Shahi Adil and general secretary Binod Kumar on Thursday met East Singhbhum DC Amit Kumar urging to rehabilitate the mangla haat shopkeepers.
During the meeting, the delegation informed DC that for the last 12 months they have been barred to put up shops in the Sakchi market which has led all the shopkeepers with no other option to earn a living.
All the shop owners have been unemployed and are on the brink of starvation. President Shahi Adil said, ‘Even after 12 months the district administration is not allowing us to put up shops nor another place has been allotted were we can continue to do our business and the administration has not even taken steps for our rehabilitation’.
During the meeting, DC Amit Kumar assured the delegation to provide the administration with 15 days time and after that time frame they would take necessary steps for their rehabilitation.
Soon after the meeting the shopkeepers seemed quite excited and hoped they would get space so that their business can flourish once again.
The delegation included Sheikh Akhtar, Mehtab Alam, Annu, Rajesh, Sunny Singh, Rahul Jha, Mukhtar, Pappu, Jani, Balli Ram, Jagga Singh and other shopkeepers.
