News Code organizes picnic with witch-hunt victims in Gamharia

Jamshedpur: A unique picnic cum felicitation programme was organized by News Code in Bholadih under Gamharia block on Wednesday. The chief guest of the programme was the deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan Chhavi Ranjan.

He praised the organizers for coming up with the idea of celebrating picnic with the victims of witch-hunt. He said Chhutni Mahato, who is fighting superstitious practices rampant in society, would get every possible assistance from the district administration.

Also present on the occasion, SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said that News Code had taken a great initiative against the prohibited and superstitious practice of witch hunt common in many rural areas of the country.

Industrialist Rupesh Katariyar said it was a unique programme. He termed witch-hunt as the most undesirable practices in rural areas. He assured to help witch-hunt victims through Laghu Udyog Bharati.

Earlier, the director of News Code Sumit Kashyap Jha welcomed the DC and other guests by giving them bouquets. He said the programme was an effort to spread public awareness among the people against various social evils.

Many dignitaries were present during the event. They included SDPO Avinash Kumar, DPRO Rahul Kumar Bharati, Premchand, Manoj Yadav and Purendra Narayan Singh.
