The meeting focused on the effective implementation of development programmes and the approval of new projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure and improving public amenities across East Singhbhum district. Discussions were held on ongoing and proposed schemes being implemented through the District Planning Untied Fund.

Among the 38 projects that were approved were schemes related to the construction of RCC culverts, guard walls, and approach roads, development of shops and showrooms for Johar Mart in Ghatshila, repair and maintenance of solar-powered mini piped water supply systems, and measures to strengthen drinking water facilities in Anganwadi centres.

The committee also deliberated on the utilization of funds allocated under the District Planning Untied Fund for the financial year 2026-27. Officials reviewed proposals received from various departments and public representatives to ensure that developmental priorities are addressed effectively.

A significant part of the meeting was devoted to discussions on 139 public-interest schemes recommended by the district’s Member of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly from different constituencies. These proposals primarily focus on improving basic infrastructure in both rural and urban areas, strengthening drinking water facilities, constructing connecting roads, creating community assets, and expanding access to essential public services.

He emphasized that the district administration’s objective is to ensure that the benefits of government programmes reach the last person in society and stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and efficient utilization of public resources.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed departments to ensure the speedy execution of approved projects without compromising on quality. He called for better inter-departmental coordination and directed officials to complete developmental works within the stipulated timeframe.
