DBMS student murder mystery: Police to derive call details records from phone

Jamshedpur, Aug. 24 : Police have intensified probe into the death of 16-year-old boy Fardeen Khan whose body was found floating in the Beldih Lake at Dhatkidih on Monday morning a day after he had gone missing from his house.

After grilling family and friends, the police have decided to derive the call details records (CDR) of Fardeen’s phone which has gone missing, analysing the CCTV footage in which a youth was seen around the period Fardeen went out of his house.

Deputy superintendent of police (PCR) Sudhir Kumar said that the probe was moving in right direction and the mystery will be solved.

They have started the probe from the angle of murder after the bereaved family members lodged an FIR suspecting that Fardeen might have murdered and dumped in the lake.

“We are trying to detect the CDR of Fardeen’s smartphone as he must have come out of the house having received someone’s call. The entire focus is on the caller if he is detected then we will be able to get a lead into the mystery behind the teenager’s death,” said Kumar.

The DSP said they had detected the footage of CCTV cameras installed near the house where Fardeen lived.

” After studying the footage, we saw an image of a youth while talking to his cellphone. But we have detected that it was not Fardeen’s footage, and the youth was someone else.

So we have to find out who the youth was around his the victim’s house at the same time when the boy had gone out of the house on Sunday wee hours,” pointed out the senior police officer. He said the tracing of the Fardeen’s smartphone key in solving in the case.

Fardeen’s body was found floating in the lake near his house. According to information, he had gone away from his house without informing anyone at 3 am on Sunday, leading the family members to search for him throughout the day.

One of his uncles, Gulrez Khan, had even lodged a verbal complaint with the Bistupur police station about the disappearance of the boy on Sunday.
